Introducing the SK Club Standard Bank Card 4FOR3 benefit

Watching a movie at Ster-Kinekor is an experience like no other, and sometimes you enjoy a movie so much that you wish your friends could join you on this mesmerising journey. Together with your friends, you can benefit from Ster-Kinekor Theatre’s benefit partnerships which amplify your buying power. The SK Club Standard Bank Card 4FOR3 benefit, launched on 27 November 2017 at Ster-Kinekor cinemas at The Zone Rosebank, Gateway Theatre of Shopping and V & A Waterfront, will help you get into the spirit of sharing this festive season and get more value from your entertainment spend.

The benefit is an exclusive discount on the purchase of four regular priced tickets for SK Club members who also have a Standard Bank Gold or higher credit card and who have activated the benefit on www.sterkinekor.com against their SK Club membership. When they buy regular priced tickets for four moviegoers the fourth person watches the movie for free.

This partnership will help Ster-Kinekor customers by adding more value to their existing SK Club benefits, best known for Half-Price Tuesdays. Now that’s a great incentive to join the SK Club and watch more blockbusters on the big screen.

Ster-Kinekor takes pride in strategic partnerships that always put the consumer’s needs first. The captured base that Standard Bank also brings on board is in line with Ster-Kinekor’s innovative plans to cater for broader market segments.

According to Ster-Kinekor the partnership with Standard Bank couldn’t have come at a better time where consumers have their holiday itineraries in place; and the Cinema forms part of it. Ster-Kinekor have added more value beyond Half-Price Tuesdays and they are confident that this will also achieve the business goals of Standard Bank and add value to their credit card offering.

Standard Bank have used this as one of their anchor benefits to enhance their Gold Credit Card’s value proposition to attract new customers and increase spend value and usage from existing credit card customers. This will also serve to encourage debit customers to apply for credit cards. The partnership comes following Standard Bank’s research into what consumers want. According to Israel Skosana, Executive Head of Consumer Cards at Standard Bank, the broad appeal and escapism of Cinema will never go out of fashion with each of us having a special memory of being immersed in a story on the big screen, creating memorable moments, which is why Ster-Kinekor was top of mind.

If the cinema is your go-to date night venue, with this benefit, you can take the cinema experience to the next level by also spending time with your friends and go on a double-date at a reduced cost.

This benefit can only be activated on the Ster-Kinekor website at www.sterkinekor.com.

As an SK Club member, you unlock Value Rewards, Points Rewards and Access Rewards when you sign up. To learn more about the SK Club benefits, visit: https://movies.sterkinekor.co.za/Browsing/clubs.aspx/1

 About Ster-Kinekor Theatres

Ster-Kinekor Theatres is a wholly-owned business within the Primedia Group and is the largest movie exhibitor on the African continent. To most South Africans, the word ‘movies’ is synonymous with the name ‘Ster-Kinekor’. The company operates 58 commercial cinema complexes in South Africa, with seven international sites based in Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The cinema chain’s sites house more than 480 large-scale screens, over 87 264 seats and the largest 3D footprint featuring more than 140 state-of-the-art 3D screens across the country.

As the industry leader, Ster-Kinekor has pioneered cinema concepts such as Cinema Nouveau, one of the world’s largest dedicated art-house multiplex circuits, and the luxurious Cine Prestige theatres, the first ‘business class’ cinema experience in South Africa. It boasts the only cinema on the continent that is fitted with the advanced Dolby Atmos sound system (at Gateway in Durban); and has headed the return of the IMAX® Experience, with the opening of seven IMAX® Theatres across the country.

As one of South Africa’s most loved brands, it is Ster-Kinekor’s ongoing mission to become synonymous with the unrivalled magic of the cinema experience, by providing ‘Great Moments at Their Greatest’. During 2013, the company embarked on a massive roll-out project to convert and equip every cinema with the very latest in digital projection and sound technology. The result of this upgrade is that every cinema now boasts state-of-the-art cinema technology that encompasses 2K and 4K digital projection and 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound systems.

The SK Club loyalty programme rewards members with redeemable points when they swipe their card when buying movie tickets or catering, as well as half price tickets on Tuesdays. Combined with industry leading loyalty programmes from Edgars Club and Discovery Vitality, these give Ster-Kinekor a strong consumer value proposition and competitive advantage.

As the market leader, Ster-Kinekor aims to spearhead the advancement of cinema across both South Africa and the rest of Africa, to ensure that consumers continue to experience movies as they were made to be seen – on the big screen.
