Clothing retail group Edcon has become the main sponsor for Casual Day. The nature of the group’s business and dressing for casual day seem an appropriate mix.
Three-year commitment
Edcon has teamed up with not-for-profit NCPPDSA (National Council for Persons with Physical Disabilities) by becoming the major sponsor for the Council’s annual Casual Day for a three year period.
Theme drives collection
The 2013 theme is ‘Go Big’, which speaks directly from the group’s aim to raise R6-million in sticker donations (R10 per sticker) at all its sores. In turn, the group will contribute R11-million towards the fund raising project over the three years.
Casual Day has raised over R170-million since its inception 18 years ago.
Beneficiaries
The funds are distributed to NCPPDSA; Epilepsy SA; SA National Council for the Blind; SA Federation for Mental Health; Deaf Federation of SA; and Disabled People South Africa.
Casual Day 2013 takes place on 6 September.
