Wednesday, 22 November 2017, saw The MediaShop win two prestigious 2017 Financial Mail Adfocus Awards namely Network Media Agency of the Year and the inaugural Transformation Award.

“We’re extremely proud of winning the Network Media Agency of the year and the first industry Transformation award as it’s particularly close to our hearts. It affirms that we’re doing the right things, firstly within our industry and secondly in aligning with the national agenda as a responsible corporate citizen,” says The MediaShop Johannesburg’s MD Kgaugelo Maphai. “We know that this accolade is a continuation of our journey and hope that the other agencies also realise that we all have a crucial role to play in embracing and driving positive transformation of our industry.

Through our on-going monthly Cultural Appreciation sessions, we realise that as a business and as individuals we must have a deeper understanding of the broader South African consumers. It is these insights that will allow for the greater creation of exceptional integrated marketing and communications strategies. We are also particularly pleased that our hard work, leadership and forward thinking is paying off, I think that our slogan “Great Minds, Think Different’ is very much on the mark.”

Since 1990, the Financial Mail AdFocus Awards have become a landmark on the South African marketing and communications landscape. Agencies and individuals are recognised, not just for their creative and marketing skills, but for their all-round business acumen. Each agency is judged against four measures: new business and growth; business retention and relationships; training and industry recognition; and empowerment/social responsibility.

“I’d like to take this opportunity, to thank each and every staff member at The MediaShop nationally for everything they do and put into this exceptional industry of ours. And of course without our fantastic clients we’d be nothing, so thank you to everyone that believes in what we do.

This is a special and brilliant way to wind down 2017 and we have a feeling that the good news isn’t over yet.”
