The Monument Amphitheatre in Pretoria was the scene of a festival of more music you love with the 7th annual Jacaranda Day, with thousands of people flocking to the highly popular event.
MiCasa, Freshlyground, Jo Black, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Refentse, Martin Bester, The Parlotones, Juanita du Plessis, Brendan Peyper and DJ Jazzy D all formed part of the top-class line-up, with the curtain raiser to the event performed by an exciting new talent, Lillia Lessev, who was voted by listeners as the winner of a competition that saw hundreds of entries from aspiring artists.
They were joined on stage by the Jacaranda FM presenters, with the station also broadcasting live from the event, and scores of people streamed from all over Gauteng and neighbouring provinces to enjoy a day of family fun in the sun.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Communication, Honourable P. Kekana.
Jacaranda FM’s General Manager, Kevin Fine, says: “Jacaranda Day remains a firm crowd favourite and one of Gauteng’s biggest entertainment calendar highlights. It’s a sight to behold to see thousands of people singing along to all the tunes they know and love, all day long. As always, the vibe was absolutely electric and we look forward to an even bigger and better Jacaranda Day in 2019!”
