South Africa’s youth have decided: Playboy and Playgirl are the coolest male and female deodorants in the country. This is according to the annual Sunday Times Generation Next Survey Awards, hosted in Johannesburg last week. The HDI Youth Marketeers-run survey recognises South Africa’s best and “coolest” brands – including products and celebrities – as voted for by 12,000 youths between the ages of 8 and 23.
“We’re immensely proud of this award on both brands,” says Matthew Dees, Brand Manager for Playgirl and Playboy deodorants. The two awards, coupled with the impressive sales performance across Playgirl and Playboy is a strong testament to the new products and innovation that we’re spending our time focusing on. An awesome achievement.”
Earlier this year, Playgirl – South Africa’s fastest growing female deodorant brand, revealed a new addition to the range with Playgirl roll-on. The new range of roll-on deodorants comes in all the same fragrances as the country’s number one aerosol range which Dees says is the winning combination. “Not only can consumers now find their favourite fragrance in a roll-on, but the formulation also offers 48hour protection, allowing them to play on well into the night.”
