Dialdirect has launched a smartphone App that uses the latest in international telematics technology to monitor driving behaviour.
Customers with comprehensive car insurance will benefit from receiving up to 75% of their premiums back in cash, every single month. This is significantly higher than what’s on offer by any competing insurance brands, and is the first offering of its kind in the market.
“It’s no secret that insurance is seen as a grudge purchase. With our App, we are turning this general consensus, as well as the traditional insurance model, on its head. Now, consumers have the opportunity to participate in their risk management and tangibly determine what they pay for insurance. In other words, do your thing, get back ching,” says Bianca de Beer, Marketing Manager of Dialdirect.
To get cash back, consumers must play their part and drive and insure right. This is a true partnership between the insurer and the insured.
“Customers will discover how their actions have a direct impact on their insurance experience. Ultimately, we are driving good risk behaviour and in turn, rewarding our customers with an unrivalled offering,” says de Beer.
The App’s functionality is available to qualifying Dialdirect customers, but anyone can benefit from a number of features on the App, including participating in driver challenges and winning vouchers.
The App has been launched with a supporting campaign, conceptualised by Dialdirect and Human.kind, that calls on customers to “Do your thing. Get back ching”. The brand has also introduced Dialdude.
The public will be introduced to Dialdude in a series of adverts that support the rewards programme.
Dialdude is personified by Weza Matemane, Cliffcentral radio host and one of Destiny Man’s Top 40 most dynamic men under the age of 40. He speaks English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, Zulu and Tswana – which of course means that Dialdude does too.
“From day one we wanted to find a way that could make Dialdirect stand out from their competitors. Working together with Dialdirect helped us achieve this and shape a campaign that will take the brand to new heights,” says Stefanus Nel, Creative Director at Human.kind.
The App can be downloaded to customers’ smartphones, and then tracks seven driving factors, including: cellphone use, braking, acceleration, night-time driving, speeding, route risk index and distance to calculate a score that determines their monthly payback.
Customers can boost their monthly earnings by insuring right – adding Home Contents cover and Buildings cover to their policies, and completing additional activities including a vehicle safety check, an eye test and confirming their policy details. And, after four years of claims-free, uninterrupted cover, customers can get up to 25% of all their premiums back.
