KZN Beach Clean Up started in June 2011 as a group of friends who wanted to get together for a once-off beach clean-up.  From the immensely positive response via social media, the decision was made to hold beach clean-ups on a monthly basis.

KZN Beach Clean Up not only aims to remove litter from the beaches and waterways each month, but also to educate people about pollution as well as teach them about the importance of the ocean and waterways that flow into it.

They are committed to working locally to improve the quality of our oceans and waterways, making them safer for the creatures that inhabit them as well as for the community, thereby contributing towards a sustainable future.

KZN Beach Clean-up believes that instead of leaving a better ocean for our children, we need to leave better children for our oceans.
